In news that you can file under “SUPER DUPER AWESOME,” Shout! Factory have announced their plans to bring the Sci-Fi title Futureworld into their Bluray library. The sequel to the classic Westworld, which featured Yul Brynner as a cybernetic cowboy who stalks some poor soul who is given a private tour of the insane “Westworld” theme park, this sequel has been on my to-watch pile for some time. Now it seems that I will be able to find an ideal version when it comes time to give the movie its due. Featuring Peter Fonda, Blythe Danner, Arthur Hill, and Yul Brynner, Futureworld will be released in just a little over a month from now. For now, here is the plot synopsis and some specs. |
To combat the lingering adverse publicity, Duffy, the Delos representative, has offered the IMC Communication Network exclusive rights to the “new” Delos story. Tracy Ballard (Blythe Danner), the network’s top commentator, has been assigned the story with Chuck Browning (Peter Fonda), the newspaper reporter who broke the original “Westworld” disaster story. But as Tracy and Chuck’s private tour starts, they get the feeling the entire resort might not be as safe as Delos thinks…”
