That’s right, Noboru Iguchi (director of The Machine Girl), Takashi Shimizu (Juon) and Yoshihiro Nishimura (Tokyo Gore Police) are all joining forces for what looks to be a bizarre (did you expect something less than STRANGE?) Xena Warrior Princess type of action-comedy program for Japanese TV, called The Ancient Dogoo Girl. What’s it about? Apparently the brainchild of Iguchi who writes and directs the initial episode, it covers the story of a young (and big chested) woman waking from a 10,000 year slumber. She has a love interest in the form of a socially withdrawn teen, and apparently fights the forces of evil. Should be a hoot though we’ll probably never get to see it stateside unless you can find fansubs on usenet or something.
