With Halloween just around the corner, everyone is trying to get into the spirit! The good folks over at Palisades Tartan are not going to let the festivities pass them by, so they’ve decided to (re)release several titles just in time for the celebration! So prepare for the horrors, because all four of these titles will be available on October 11th!


BLOOD CURSE (formerly BAD BLOOD)
A prominent and respected family inherits a beautiful home in the country, nestled deep inside a tiny village. Despite protests from his wife and children who have grown accustomed to the finer things in life and believe the house should be sold for profit, the father decides to uproot everyone and move to the new house. Almost immediately the small group learns that the village is overshadowed by superstition, religion and mysterious folklore. Soon strange events begin occurring and family is forced to consider an alarming rumor running rampant throughout the village: by inheriting the house, they have also inherited a dark and menacing curse.

In the end of the 70’s, the dysfunctional Kenneth Bianchi lives with his mother and is obsessed with joining the police force. When his application is refused, his mother sends him to Los Angeles to live with his sadistic cousin Angelo Buono. Kenneth unsuccessfully tries to join the LAPD and Angelo convinces him to instead start a prostitution business with him. They force two girls from Tucson to work for them, but their competitors soon destroy their business and steal their money. The frustrated Kenneth and Angelo decide to take revenge against a prostitute and Kenneth strangles her, feeling a great pleasure with her death. ROOT OF EVIL (formerly ACACIA)
After 10 years of marriage, Do-il (Kim Jin-geun) and Mi-sook (Shim Hye-jin) live a seemingly happy and secure life together. Unable to conceive, they decide to adopt Jin-Sung (Moon Woo-bin), a young boy that Mi-sook is drawn to after seeing his Munch-like paintings. Quiet and introverted, Jin-Sung spends most of his time playing underneath the Acacia tree in their backyard, away from the family. When Mi-sook becomes miraculously pregnant, he becomes even more detached. As the once-dead Acacia tree in the backyard begins to bloom, terrible “accidents” start to tear the household apart. Is it Jin-Sung or something far more sinister?

THE SLIT-MOUTHED WOMAN (formerly CARVED)
Thirty years ago, a suburban town was terrorized by the spirit of a woman whose beautiful face had been grotesquely disfigured by a jealous husband. Roaming the streets wearing a long coat and surgical mask, the spirit would approach young victims and, while removing her mask, ask “Am I pretty?” The victim’s response would almost always lead to their violent death.

Now, one by one, children are disappearing again. As teachers and officials desperately begin to investigate, a panic begins to build as the woman’s spirit returns for some unfinished business and the town’s dark secrets are exposed.
