In a time and era when Cannibal Holocaust is now widely available at an FYE near you, it seems that the underground barely even exists anymore. So what does a group of ostracized film geeks, who lack any kind of high brow sensibilities and have an affinity for the bizarre, do? They make mixtapes! Mixtapes, or party tapes, have been around since the advent of VHS but only in more recent times have the tools been so readily available to any film geek with a personal computer. Anyone can now make a mixtape, but only a select few become notorious.

If you’ve read up on the video mixtape phenomena, then you have likely already heard about the Retard-O-Tron Video Mixtape. Infamous, shocking, hilarious and… retarded, the Retard-O-Tron series seems a prime example of the community mentality. Clips of accidents, bizarre skits and shocking acts are all collected with a deranged sense of humor. Retard-O-Tron II has been around for a little while, in DIVX format for your to download at a torrent tracker near you, but I was contacted by the guys behind the retardation and they wanted me to pass along the information that the Retard-O-Tron II DVD has just been released as well.
