|If you have been a moderate fan of the Phantasm series, you know about it’s initial rarity during the big DVD boom of the early 2000s. It didn’t hit DVD until 2009 and then the disc was bare bones. There had been a great bit of hooplah made about the rights of the film being tied up and unfortunately it never made it into the hands of a company who truly appreciated the horror genre, until now! Shout! Factory, under their “Scream Factory” arm, will be releasing the DVD/Bluray on March 26th and they have recently made public the special features that will show up on the disc. If you guessed that this is going to be a stacked release, then you guessed right. Read on and enjoy.|

|Hey all, this is more of a reminder than anything, but Raro Video recently sent out a press release about their upcoming DVD release of Fernando Di Leo’s Madness on August 14th. This is an interesting piece of Di Leo’s crime-cinema library, mostly due to the star of this vehicle. Joe Dallesandro is best known as being part of Andy Warhol’s collective, and he is notable for his very strange screen presence. Seeing him in Flesh For Frankenstein is an oddity that can not be compared. For those interested, here is the rest of the press release: |

|Writers:||George Armitage and Danny Opatoshu|
|Starring:||Patty Byrne, Alana Stewart and Mittie Lawrence|
|The Plot: Our story revolves around three girls who work as nurses at a mental health institution. Barbara (Patty Byrne) is the free spirit of the group, and we watch as she becomes involved with a strange hippie commune. All seems to be going well, with free love and bizarre new-age philosophy flying in the air, but things eventually take a darker turn when Barbara walks into a room with a two-way receiver that is broadcasting the “guru” of this commune spreading lies about her while she is out of the room. This nearly drives Barbara insane and pushes her to areas that she never expected to go. Next up is Janis (Alana Stewart), who isn’t looking for love on the job, but she is soon wrapped up in a relationship with one of her patients who is currently undergoing rehab treatment. A cowboy with a drug addiction, would could wrong? Finally, we have Sandra (Mittie Lawrence), who is drawn into the political struggles of the world when she meets a prisoner on her ward. It turns out that this prisoner started a massive riot, and Sandra believes that his struggle is her own. Will she commit to helping him even though it means risking her entire career, or will she play it safe? |
